PGH attorney Josh Hayes recently attended the kickoff event for the Courthouse Appreciation Tour, sponsored by the Alabama Association for Justice. As President, Josh expressed ALAJ’s gratitude for the public servants who work throughout Alabama’s judicial system. “ALAJ honors these dedicated civil servants and the job they do on behalf of all Alabamians”, Josh said. The event in Birmingham fell on the 230th anniversary of the proposal of the Seventh Amendment (the right to trial by jury) to the US Constitution. At the time, this amendment was one on which the Federalists and anti-Federalists agreed. PGH believes in and works to foster ALAJ’s mission statement to preserve and protect “the constitutional right to a trial by jury guaranteed by the Seventh Amendment to the United States Constitution by ensuring that every person or business harmed or injured by the misconduct or negligence of others can hold wrongdoers accountable in the one room where everyone is equal- the courtroom.”
