September 11, 2020, 9:40am
Josh Hayes has been re-appointed to serve on three Alabama State Bar Task Forces: COVID 19 Civil Bench and Bar Task Force for 2020-21, Bench & Bar Relations Task Force 2020-2021, and the State Bar’s 19th Amendment Task Force for 2020-2021. Alabama State Bar President Bob Methvin stated as follows of the COVID 19 Task Force “in anticipation of when the risk from COVID-19 has abated sufficiently for the Supreme Court to reinstate jury trials, the leadership of the Bench and Bar is cognizant of the need to insure that both criminal and civil demands for jury trials are met. In order to ensure an organized and expeditious return to civil jury trials, this Task Force of the Alabama Bench and Bar shall provide the Chief Justice and the Supreme Court recommendations or suggestions to promote an orderly and safe return to active civil jury trial dockets across the state.”
The goal of the Bench & Bar Relations Task Force, comprised of attorneys and judges, is to enhance and improve the communication, collaboration, and overall relationship between the members of the bar and the judiciary.
Educating, celebrating and promoting the centennial of women’s suffrage by the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is the mandate of the 19th Amendment Task Force.
Josh, thank you for your continued service to the Alabama State Bar and to the attorneys who are members. These appointments are further examples of Josh’s commitment to his profession.
