PGH Partner Josh Hayes, has been appointed to the COVID-19 Bench and Bar Task  Force by the Alabama State Bar President Christy Crow.  The purpose  of  this task force is as follows:  “In anticipation of when the risk from COVID-19 has abated sufficiently for the Supreme Court to reinstate jury trials, the leadership of the Bench and Bar is cognizant of the need to insure  that both criminal and civil demands for jury trials are met.  In order to ensure an organized and  expeditious return to civil jury trials, this Task Force of the Alabama Bench and Bar shall provide the Chief Justice and the Supreme Court recommendations or suggestions to promote an orderly and safe return to active civil jury trial dockets across the state.” As the current president of the Alabama Association for Justice, Josh has worked hard to preserve and protect the constitutional right to trial by jury guaranteed by the 7^th Amendment to the US Constitution.   His service on this special task force will allow for him to push for the resumption of civil jury trials as soon as possible given the circumstances faced by the judiciary.  Thank you Josh for you service during these unprecedented times.
