Prince Glover Hayes Partner Josh Hayes Speaks at Alabama Association for Justice Summer Seminar
June 24, 2021, 2:50pm
PGH partner Josh Hayes spoke on Friday, June 18th to the attorneys who attended the Alabama Association for Justice summer seminar. Josh gave the members an update on the opioid litigation our firm, along with Beasley Allen and the Attorney General’s office, is pursuing on behalf of the State of Alabama. Currently the lawsuit, filed in Montgomery County, Alabama, is set for trial on November 1, 2021. The case was filed in 2018 against McKesson Corporation, a distributor of opioids, Purdue Pharmaceuticals, and Endo Pharmaceuticals, both opioid manufacturers.
Josh and several other PGH attorneys including Bob Prince and Blake Williams have been actively involved in the preparation of the case. They have taken and defended numerous depositions, reviewed hundreds of thousands of documents, interviewed witnesses, attended hundreds of meetings and zoom calls with the Attorney General Steve Marshall and his staff and other state employees, and spent hours researching various points of law. We are all extremely honored to be a part of such an important case that could benefit Alabama and its citizens.
